rehabilitative movement sessions

Rehabilitative movement sessions bridge the gap between physical therapy and conventional exercise programs. These post rehab sessions are designed for the client who has completed physical therapy and is in need of a supervised movement practice or one whose physician, chiropractor, or physical therapist has recommended movement.

Our goal in offering rehabilitative movement is to provide safe and effective conditioning programs for clients with medical conditions and following surgery and/or physical therapy. These sessions will focus on correcting any functional/movement deficits still present after physical therapy, following surgery, or due to an injury or medical condition.

The Pilates and GYROTONIC® Methods will be used with specific applications to post-rehab and therapeutic conditions including orthopedic, neurological, and metabolic conditions.

We often work with clients who are referred to us by their physician, physical therapist, or chiropractor either during or after treatment. Often we work with these professionals in assessing and managing the needs of our clients. Our sessions are not intended to diagnose, treat, or act as a substitute for medical care or medical advice. They are meant to be one integral aspect of a total treatment plan - the movement aspect.

Alissa Waller is a Nationally Certified Pilates Trainer (NCPT) and a Certified Gyrotonic Master Teacher with extensive experience and training in the therapeutic applications of both systems. She has been successful in applying Pilates and Gyrotonic exercise to the therapeutic environment in a safe and effective way.  Please contact her directly for questions about Post Rehab Sessions. A doctors referral or diagnosis may be required.
